OBITUARY OF HENRY GRAY SR.

Henry Gray was born April 11, 1864 in Vymeer, Oestriesland, in Germany. He was married to Dorothy Shipper and to this union were born seven children. They are: Henry Gray of Titonka, Stoffer Gray of Humboldt, Arnold Gray of Titonka,Mrs. Dick Gelder of Wellsburg, Mrs. Jerry Janssen of Rake, Gerit Gray of Lakota, and Dick Gray who preceded his father in death.

Mr. Gray with his wife immigrated to Kamrar, Iowa, in the year 1903, and there resided for about eighteen years. Near the end of this period of residence, in 1920, his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Gray died. In 1922 Mr. Gray was united inmarriage to Mrs. Gerdina Stubbe. To this union was born one son, Dedrick Gray.

Mr. Gray spent the rest of his years as follows: after leaving Kamrar he lived at Lakota for six years, then eight years were spent at Ledyard. After that, four years at Baxter, Iowa, and about a year and a half ago he with his familymoved back to Ledyard.

On april 7th he suddenly suffered a stroke and after six days of waiting he passed to his eternal home on April 13, 1936. He had reached the age of 72 years and 2 days.

Besides the living children named above he leaves seven step-children to mourn his death: Fred Stubbe of Lakota, Mrs. Irene Boese of Ledyard, Sandy Stubbe of Baxter, Benny Stubbe of Baxter, Willie Stubbe of Ledyard and Dorothy Stubbe ofLedyard. One sister, Mrs. Prince, of Germany, also survives. He also leaves 35 grand-children.

Wherever Mr. Gray went he formed a large number of friends. He was a good father to his family, a man who was a brother to his fellowmen, and one who lived in the fear of God. Thus he attained spiritual wisdom for the beginning ofwisdom is the fear of the Lord."
