Mrs. Henry Gray, 54 years old, a former resident of Kamrar, died Wednesday at her home in Germania. The remains were brought to Kamrar for burial this afternoon and funeral services held from the Frank Henderson undertaking establishment.Burial was in the German Presbyterian cemetery near Kamrar.

She is survived by six children - Stoffer of Fonda; Henry and Arnold of Titonka; Gerhard of Germania, and Miss Henrietta Gray and Mrs. Dick Gelder of Ledyard.

Mrs. Gray was born in Ballingwolde [RP: Should be Bellingwolde], Holland, and came to America when a very young girl. She was well known in Kamrar and vicinity, where she lived many years before moving to Germania. -----------

The community of Germania in Kossuth County, Iowa voted to change its name to Lakota on October 1, 1918 due to anti-German sentiment after World War I. The Post Office officially changed the name on August 5, 1919 but common usageappeared to continue after that date.

Succumbs After a Lingering Illness at Farm Home Near Lakota Last Week Wednesday

Mrs. Henry Gray, whose home was northwest of Lakota for the past two years and who was much respected by those in her neighborhood, passed away last Wednesday, December 8th. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and funeralservices were held at Kamrar, Iowa, last Saturday.

Dora Schipper was born at Ballinwolde, Holland, January 21, 1865, where in 1889 she was married to Henry Gray. To this union were born nine children, six of whom are living. They moved to this country in 1903 and settled on a farm nearKamrar, Iowa, where they resided for sixteen years and then moved here.

She leaves a husband and six children who have the sympathy of the community during their bereavement. -- Lakota Record." <>
