"Iva E. Gray, 80

Funeral services for Iva E. Gray, 80, of Titonka were held Saturday, August 17 at the United Methodist Church in Titonka. Rev. Timm Wilkin officiated. Music was provided by organist Edith Tieman and the congregation. Casketbearers wereWayne Cordes, Bob Stecker, Kevin Gray, Lamonte Gray, Rodney Gray and Jeff Schutjer. Interment was in the Buffalo Township Cemetery in Titonka. Iva passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in MasonCity. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Iva Eldon Gray, was born on March 3, 1922, the daughter of Bert and Mary (Wirtjes) Anderson. She grew up in Titonka area and attended country school at the Ramsey Township School House in rural Titonka. After her schooling she helped athome on the farm. On March 30, 1948 she was united in marriage to Leonard Gray at the Presbyterian Church in Lakota. After their marriage the couple farmed west of Titonka for one year. On March 3, 1949 they moved to their present farmsouth of Titonka where they lived ever since. They loved being on their farm so much that after retirement in 1982 they continued living there. She enjoyed spending tune with her grandchildren, taking care of her flowers, of which shehad hundreds of, years ago when she was able to tend to them; reading, especially her "Capper's Weekly." She was also a member of the Titonka United Methodist Church.

Iva is survived by her husband, Leonard, of Titonka; sons: Wendall Gray of Titonka; Arlyn Gray and his wife, Angela, of Titonka; grandchildren: Anthony Gray of Titonka; James Gray and his wife, Sarah, of Anchorage, Alaska; James Gray ofDes Moines; Bronica. Aaron and Mark Gray of Titonka; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Laura Stecker, of Titonka. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Marie Cordes and lona Gray; brothers: Clarence and LawrenceAnderson."
