"Grace Bosma, 106 years old of Buffalo Center, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a..m. on Saturday March 12 at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center, with Pastor Brad DeVries officiating. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery.

Grace Bosma, daughter of Oltman and Gertie (Smith) Akkerman, was born April 18, 1909 on a farm near Buffalo Center. As a young child, she was baptized by the Rev. Aleck Russell in the Congregation Church in Buffalo Center. She attended country school in the area. While growing up, she helped her mother and father on their farm.

On Marh 28, 1928 she was united in marriage to Thomas Fred Bosma, Jr. at the hoe of her parents by Rev. Aleck Russell. Together, they farmed near Buffalo Center.

Grace is known for her joy in doing for her family and others. She enjoyed belonging to the Woman's Group at church. Grace took pride in her home and garden, often singing or whisling as she went about her"

work. She loved bringing hot tea to 'her boys' on cold winter mornings and keeping her cookie jar filled for her grandchildren. She was always busy doing something. Her children, grandchildren and now great-grandchildren, have many of her 'works of love', in her many quilts and hand-embroidery she enjoyed doing as her hobby. Her sense of humor, smile, and her enjoyment of just sitting and visiting during tea-time will be missed.

Those left to honor her life with their memories are: her three sons, Ray (Navonne) Bosma and Larry (Linda) Bosma of Buffalo Center,

"Gary (Cindy) Bosma of Hutchinson, MN; her grandchildren, Denny Bure of St. Paul, MN, Melissa (Charles) Williams of Texas, Shannon (John)Kelly of Sparks, NV, Devin (Casey) Bosma of Arlington, TX, Katie Bosma of Nacogdoches, TX, Matthew (Susie) Bosma, Adam (Danielle) Bosma) and Eric (Kasie) Bosma, all of Minnesota. Also by her great-grandchildren, Zachary and Megan Lindsey, Amanda Bosma, Mason and Madison Williams; Logan and Dexter Bosma and Trevor and Megan Bosma.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Thomas , in 1979; daughter Betty Bure in 2002; son-in-law, Carl Bure in 1998; daughter-in-law, Juanita Bosma in 2007; her three sisters, Jennie Grothe, Wilma Stewart and Alvera Hanson.

She will be remembered and sadly missed by many relatives and friends.
