"THOMAS. JR. AND GRACE (AKKERMAN) BOSMA

Thomas Fred Bosma, Jr., son of Thomas and Florence (Adams) Bosma, was born on January 4, 1905 near Buffalo Center. He grew up on a farm and attended school in Lincoln Township. On March 28, 1928, he was united in marriage to GraceAkkerman, daughter of Oltman and Gertie Akkerman. The Rev. Aleck Russell officiated.

They farmed in the Buffalo Center area, and moved to town on the northeast edge in the year 1945. Here they had a poultry farm for approximately 20 years. Here he also invented the even-air ventilator of which he got a U.S. patent on.

Tom's lifetime hobbies included collecting rocks of all kinds, painting pictures and building replicas of old wagons and steam engines. Grace's hobbies include gardening and quilting.

They had four children. their daughter, Betty Lou, married Carl Q. Bure of Albert Lea, Minnesota. They live in Austin, Minnesota, and have one son, Dennis Lee, who lives in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Three sons are: Thomas Ray, who married Juanita Forret of Adel, Iowa. They have owned and operated Bosma TV in Buffalo Center for 30 years. Frances Larry married Linda Kogel; they live in Arlington, Texas; they have three children: Melissia, Shannon and Devin. Gary Lee married Cindy Meyers; they have three sons: Matthew, Adam and Eric. They live in Albert Lea, Minnesota where Gary is assistant manager of Shopko.

Thomas Fred Bosma, Jr. passed away on April 25, 1979 at age 74.
