Adam Adams was born in Uttum, Ostfriesland, Germany on January 11, 1851. Minnie Westendorf was also born in Germany. She was the daughter of Henry Westendorf who lived in the west part of Buffalo Center in 1910.

Adam Adams and Minnie Westendorf were married in Germany in 1876. To this union were born 16 children; ten girls and six boys. They came to America in 1884 and settled in Grundy County, Iowa near Ackley. they remained in Ackley until the spring of 1887 when they moved or Orchard Deuel County, Colo-"

"rado. In the fall of 1887 they returned to Grundy County and remained there until 1894 when they came to this locality. They farmed for 12 years and then traded their farm for a residence property in the southwest part of town.

One of Adam and Minnie's sons died in infancy and also one of their daughters. Other children were Albert, Maggie, James, Heiko, Mrs. Thomas Bosma, Katie, Minnie, Bernadean, Susie, Henry, Fred, Lena, Mrs. D. A. Wempen, and Mrs. C. C.Buseman.

Adam Adams passed away on April 23, 1910."
