"Henry and Ella (Mulder) Adams

Henry Bernard Adams was born on January 7, 1878 at Uttem, East Friesland, Germany to Adam and Moerderke (Westendorf) Adams.

About 1893-1894 he emigrated to America with his parents, brothers and sisters and settled in the Ackley area and later moved to Kossuth County on a farm.

Henry and a friend had gone to Britt, Hancock County, Iowa with a team of horses and a wagon to get a load of supplies. While waiting, Henry saw a young lady step off the train there and he turned to his friend and said, "That is thegirl I am going to marry,: and so he did.

On October 20, 1904 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, Henry was married to Ella Mulder.

Fishing was a favorite hobby of Henry's and many a day he would comment, 'When the wind is in the east, the fishing is the best,' and then you could see him and his model T with the fishing poles sticking out the rear window heading for afishing lake in this region.

At Christmastime everyone would get a sack of candy, an apple and orange in it and would be identified by their [sic] name in the way of a song, actress, actor or TV"
