Johannes (Johan) werd vernoemd naar zijn vader. Hij was timmerman/aannemer en nam uiteindelijk het Verloop bouwbedrijf over ca. 1950. In de twintig jaar daarvoor was het bedrijf in handen van de drie broers: Arie, Jacob en Johannes. Arie trad uit de zaak rondom WOII en in 1946 adverteren de Gebr. Jacob en Joh. Verloop hun aannemersbedrijf. Niet lang daarna trad Jacob uit de zaak.
Hij woonde in het oude pand Elleboogsteeg 6 (huis en timmermansschuur) dat in 1765 door zijn over-over-grootvader Thomas was gebouwd. Hier bij dit pand en achter op de dam hebben vele Verloop-kleinkinderen gespeeld in de jaren 1950-1970. In navolging van zijn vader - met zes volwassen en gehuwde zonen - is zijn nageslacht in de Verloop-tak ìKatwijkî wel het meest uitgebreid.
