Krijn was vernoemd naar de jong overleden oudere broer van zín vader. Hij was timmerman in de zaak van zijn vader en vervulde zijn militaire dienstplicht tijdens WOI en was mede exploitant van het Groot Badhotel in 1919/20. Hij overleed in maart 1920 op 30-jarige leeftijd aan de Spaanse griep, precies 100 jaar voor de uitbraak en wereldwijde verspreiding van het nieuwe coronavirus waardoor in 2020 meer dan 1,7 miljoen mensen aan COVID-19 overleed. De Telegraaf introduceerde de Spaanse griep op 30 mei 1918 alsvolgt aan de Nederlandse lezers: ìÖDe ziekte welke Spanje teistert, schijnt een soort influenza te zijn, die blijkbaar een goedaardig verloop heeft. Gevallen met doodelijken afloop werden tot nu toe niet gemeldÖî Een jaar later waren er wereldwijd 30 tot 50 miljoen mensen gestorven aan dat influenzavirus.
In een krantenartikel werd over zijn dood geschreven: ìÖOm zijn eenvoud, rechtschapenheid en degelijkheid was wijlen de heer Verloop algemeen geacht en bemind. Het personeel verliest in hem een humaan patroon. Het personeel van de stoombrandspuit - waar hij pijpvoerder was - heeft ook in hem een groot verlies te boeken. Zonder altijd op gevaar voor eigen leven te letten heeft hij deze functie op bewonderenswaardige wijze vervuld.
