Neeltjeís familie kwam oorspronkelijk uit Noordwijk. Zij werd in 1920 weduwe op 31-jarige leeftijd (kinderloos), is daarna nooit hertrouwd en werd 83 jaar oud. De laatste jaren van haar leven bracht zij door in ìHuize Salemî. Lange tijd daarvoor woonde ze op de bovenverdieping van het huis Voorstraat 132, boven Krijn en Leuntje. De foto op oude leeftijd (ca. 80 jr) is door Nella Pit-Verloop opgedoken in een ìoude doosî met fotoís en documenten in april 2021.
