Notes about Arie VERLOOP


Arie werd geboren zes maanden na het huwelijk van zijn ouders en werd - als eerstgeborene - vernoemd naar zijn grootvader. Hij was timmerman/aannemer, aanvankelijk in de zaak van zijn vader en vervulde zijn militaire dienstplicht tijdens WOI. Hij was van 1919 tot 1922 mede-exploitant van het Groot Badhotel en aanliggend Paviljoen, in eigendom van zijn vader, verkocht aan de gemeente en afgebroken in 1931. Van 1932 tot de periode rondom WOII was hij een van de drie eigenaars van Gebrs. Verloop, timmer-, metsel-en aannemersbedrijf. Op latere leeftijd was hij bestuurslid van de plaatselijke Raiffaisenbank en Christelijke lagere school. Woonde op Duinoord 18 (nu Voorstraat 118 en gemeentelijk monument) en later Zeeweg 29 (nu Voorstraat 135) welk pand door het bouwbedrijf van zijn vader was gebouwd in 1927.
