Notes about Geert Nijborg

Geert Nijborg woonde eerst in Zuidlaren en later in Vries. Hij was tolgaarder in 1885 en in 1914 landbouwer. Tijdens zijn diensttijd is Geert gehandicapt geworden. Wegens dit lichamelijk gebrek zou de huwelijksakte van zijn zoon in 1913 niet door hem zijn getekend.
Hij wordt samen met zijn echtgenote in een groot aantal notariële akten vermeld als hoofdpersoon of comparant inzake het pachten van tol, transacties van onroerend goed en het opstellen van testamenten. Hieruit komt naar voren dat het regelen van de nalatenschap van Geert Nijborg en Annechien Ebbinge veel voeten in de aarde had.
Notaris C.W. Rengers Hora Siccama te Vries, 29 december 1884, aktennr. 192: tolverpachting. Naast Geert Nijborg uit Zuidlaren, is onder meer zijn schoonvader Harm Ebbinge uit Peize hierbij betrokken.
Notaris H.L. Sijpkens te Vries, 30 oktober 1889, aktenr. 58: verhuur van onroerend goed. Ook hier treedt naast Geert Nijborg uit Vries onder meer schoonvader Harm Ebbinge als comparant op.
