Notes about Jacob Nijborg
Jacob woonde na zijn huwelijk eerst in Kropswolde en later in Schuilingsoord op de Annerstreek, waar hij met vrouw en kinderen inwoonde bij zijn bejaarde ouders. In 1906 brak hier brand uit, die de woning in de as legde.
Na de dood van zijn vader en moeder verhuisden ze naar een boerderijtje in Kropswolde. Deze is in mei 1917 in een hevige onweersbui door brand verwoest. Vervolgens keerde het gezin terug naar Schuilingsoord om zich uiteindelijk te vestigen in De Groeve.
Notaris E. Posthuma te Vries, 15 april 1911, aktenr. 78: Betreft: obligatie met hypotheek van de Winschoter Hypotheekbank met als schuldenaar Jacob Nijborg (Zuidlaren).
Op 3 september 1906 staat Jacob Nijborg uit Schuilingsoord als verdachte voor de rechtbank in Assen. Hij zou op 30 juni 1906 een conflict hebben uitgevochten, waarbij hij met een hooivork Lammert en Sjirk Venema zou hebben aangevallen. Deze laatste zou op zijn beurt hem met een hooivork hebben bedreigd. Tegen beide kemphanen werd een boete van 6 gulden of
een gevangenisstraf van 6 dagen geëist.
Op 1 maart 1912 blijkt dat hij door de rechtbank in Assen is veroordeeld tot één maand gevangenisstraf. Teneinde te voorkomen dat een politieman een proces-verbaal tegen hem zou opmaken vanwege wederspannigheid, bood hij deze tevergeefs 10 gulden aan.
Op 13 juni 1929 dient voor het gerechtshof in Leeuwarden een hoger beroep, waarin Jacob samen met zijn zonen Arend, Berend en Eppe Nijborg een verzet komen tegen een eerdere veroordeling door de Rechtbank in Assen. Zij zouden op nieuwsjaardag met verenigde krachten Willem Klinkhamer te Annerstreek (Annen) tot bloedens toe hebben mishandeld.
In de zomer van 1929 is er sprake van een openbare verkoping van een boerderij met bouw- en grasland in Schuilingsoord, in gebruik bij eigenaar Jacob Nijborg sr. Tevens wordt van hem aan de Annerstreek te Annen een arbeiderswoning met landbouwgrond aangeboden, in gebruik bij zijn oudste zoon Arend.
