Matilda Reents 1910 - 1996

Matilda Reents was born on November 27, 1910 in Lennox, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Johan and Anna (Heyer) Tempel. She was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through the Sacramento of Holy Baptism in the spring of 1911. Thefamily moved to Twin Brooks, SD when Matilda was eight years old. She was confirmed in her Christian faith on March 25, 1945 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Milbank SD by Rev. R. Wessler.

Matilda was united in marriage to Walter Reents on October 10, 1929 in her family home near Twin Brooks. They farmed near Twin Brooks from 1929 to 1995. In 1995 they moved to Milbank, SD. To this union God granted two sons Byron andRoyce. She was an active member of the Tabitha Ladies' Aid of Emanuel Lutheran.

Matilda was received into God's Kingdom of Glory on November 20, 1996 at the age of 85 years, 11 months, 23 days. She is survived by her husband Walter; her two sons Byron and his wife Rose of Des Moines, IA and Royce of Denver, CO;three grandchildren; one sister Luella Dirks of Fergus Falls, MN; three brothers John and William of Wilmot, SD and Elmore of St. Paul, MN; as well as many relatives and friends.

Matilda was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers. Her physical body will be laid to rest in teh Milbank City Cemetery with the blessed hope of the resurrection of teh body to everlasting life. This hope is madesure and certain through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave.

To God alone belongs all glory.'
