"Kevin Heyer, 56

Kevin Alroy Heyer was born March 11, 1949 to Alfred and Betty (Aukes) Heyer at the Buffalo Center Hospital in Buffalo Center. He attended school in Titonka and Buffalo Center. Kevin joined the US Navy in 1967, serving on the USSCanberra and USS Rogers during the Vietnam era. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1973.

He lived in Iowa, Minnesota, Washington state and Nevada. He was skilled as a plumber, electrician and carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing guitar. Kevin died on Sunday, January 29, 2006 in Spring Valley Hospital, LasVegas, Nevada, due to medical complications of a head injury.

Kevin is survived and lovingly remembered by his mother, Betty Heyer of Buffalo Center; brothers, Kirk Heyer of Bothell, WA and Keith Heyer and special friend, Donna Fjoser, of North Mankato, MN; and sister, Kathi Nelson and husband,Mark, of Buffalo Center. Kev is also survived by his nephews, Spencer and Reese Nelson of Buffalo Center; aunts and uncles Mary Smith of Elmore, MN; Harvey and Donna Aukes of Woodland, CA; Ramona Heyer of Titonka, Roger and Carol Aukesof Buffalo Center, Jenny Heyer of Cameron, MO; Cecil and Florence Heyer of Titonka, Kathy Heyer of Manchester, IA, and Gordon and Lois Heyer of Kansas City along with many cousins and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Alfred (1958), maternal grand parents, Ted and Elsie Aukes; paternal grandparents, George and Gesina Heyer; aunts Marilyn (Harms) Heyer (1988) and Iona (Sachs) Aukes (1997); and uncles RichardAllen Aukes (infant, 1943), Edwin Aukes (1965), Kenneth Aukes (1998), Harvey Heyer (2003), Lawrence Heyer (2003) and Jim Heyer (1999).

A Celebration of Life service is pending."
