Na het Gymnasium te Hilversum studeerde zij cello aan de Vakschool van de "Muziek-school van Toonkunst" te Bussum. Actief in het muziekleven in Bussum en Hilversum. 1949-1962 celliste bij de Groninger Orkest Vereniging. Gaf les aan de muziekscholen van Hoogeveen, Meppel en Emmen, en aan privé-leerlingen. Keerde van 1963-1973 terug naar Hilversum om haar moeder te verzorgen. Bleef in die tijd lesgeven, en deelnemen aan het muziekleven. In 1972 terugkeer naar Groningen, waar zij in 1979 haar werkzaamheden als celliste beëindigde. Haar kostbare cello en strijkstok schonk zij aan het Oscar Back-fonds, dat bijzondere strijkinstrumenten uitleent aan zeer getalenteerde jonge musici.
Zij bleef ongehuwd.
