Ging in 1931 naar Nederlands Oost Indië, waar hij o.a. werkte bij Van Dongen Industriële Maatschappij te Semarang. 1942-1945 met echtgenote en oudste zoon in Japanse concen-tratiekampen, waar hij zelf te werk gesteld werd in Japanse mijnen. Terugkeer van het gezin naar Nederland. In 1947 weer naar NOI/Indonesië. 1947-1952 Werkzaam bij het Copra-fonds te Pontianak, en 1952-1957 bij Harmsen Verwey Dunlop te Djakarta. In 1957 bleek, na verlof in Nederland, terugkeer naar Indonesië niet meer mogelijk. Daarna Assistent Per-soneelszaken bij NV Philips van Ommeren te Rotterdam.
