Notes about Francis Ralph DuRette

Ralph operated a farm at Fairfield, Oregon, and in partnersihp with his brother, Don DuRette, operated considerable acreage of rented land in the vicinity for several years. Ralph was also engaged in logging along the Willamette River, where he rafted and towed his logs to down stream markets. He sold his Fairfield holdins in the mid 1930's and purchased the John Miley farm near Wilsonville, Oregon, where he carried on a general farm and hop growing operation with logging as a side line. In the mid 1940's he traded the Wilsonville property for a farm close to Fairfield, which had formerly been owned by his maternal Grandparents, and prior to that, by paternal grandparents. Here he carried on general farming with logging as a side line.
