He worked on bridge construction for a number of years with the Oregon State Highway Bridge Department and on construction and maintenance for the Eugene Water and Electric Board until retirement December 31, 1960. Pete spend 5 1/2 years in the military service in Mexican Border service, WWI and WWII. He was commissioned in 1917 and was retired as a Major U.S. Army Reserve in 1955.
