Vic woonde voor het huwelijk: Eikstraat 47 te Utrecht, daarna Lessinglaan 37 III te Utrecht (Oog in Al). Thans al vele jaren in Bunnik. Hi j was tijdens de oorlog thuis ondergedoken omdat hij aan de oproep voor "arbeitseinsatz" geen gevolg gaf.
Na de oorlog heeft hij zich gemeld als oorlogsvrijwilliger voor Nederlands Indië, evenals zijn broer Henri. In september 1945 gingen ze naar Engeland/Schotland voor een militaire opleiding tot voorjaar 1946. Zij werden daarna ingedeeld bij de beroemde 7 december divisie in oprichting en in najaar 1946 verscheept naar Indië. Hier werd zijn standplaats Batavia en na de 1ste politionele actie Bandoeng.
Zijn broer Henri werd ingedeeld bij de bataljons staf van 3-14 regiment infanterie en verbleef op verschillende locaties in West -Java, afhankelijk van de acties.
Beiden zijn in 1949 teruggekomen en gedemobiliseerd. Daarna hebben zowel Harry als Verus de universitaire studies ter hand genomen, die leidden tot een functie in de burgermaatschappij.
