Hendrik Eweg was dus een zoon uit het huwelijk van Corneille Eweg en Everdina Severijn. Op haar beurt was deze Everdina een dochter uit het huwelijk van Hendrik Severijn ( geb. 5 okt 1811) met Christina Sophia Honig (geb. 1819).
De echtgenote van Hendrik Jacobus Eweg, Everdina Severijn dus, was een dochter uit het huwelijk van Johannes Severijn met Jannetje Drieënh uizen. Op zijn beurt was deze Johannes een zoon uit het huwelijk van Stephanus Severijn met Johanna G. van der Vlerk. Conclusie: De opa van Everdina (Dien) Severijn namelijk Stephanus Severijn is een broer van de opa van haar echtgenoot Hendrik Jacobus Eweg namelijk Hendrik S everijn. Het bleef dus in de familie.

Hendrik Jacobus kwam na zijn H.B.S.- opleiding op 17-jarige leeftijd werken bij de Spoorwegen, eerst als surnumerair tot ergenis van zijn moeder, die als weduwe van een paar huisjes moest rondkomen. Omdat hij een buitendienst functie bij de Spoorwegen ambiëerde verhuisde het gezin nogal eens. In 1927 naar Best (stationschef), daarna Nieuwerkerk a/ d IJssel, Culemborg en als laatste Amersfoort.

Bijgaande foto is van augustus 1929. Om gezondheidsredenen ging hij in de binnendienst en in 1939 werd hij afgekeurd wegens hartklachten en gepensioneerd na bijna 40 dienstjaren. In 1940 is hij overleden na een lichte griep.
