Notes about Hendrik (Henk) Severijn

Hij was in zijn vrije tijd genealoog en stamboomonderzoeker van vele families. Hij publiceerde in de Wapenheraut van 1914 over het GESLACHT SEVERIJN (meerdere takken ), later uitgegeven door het Centraal Bureau voor Genealogie en Heraldiek in Den Haag.
Hij was werkzaam bij het Parket in Utrecht en diende onder zijn chef Mr. Giesbert Cornelis Bartout van der Feen de Lille, Heer van Heilo . Deze overleed op 16 juni 1967, oud 80 jaar.
Hij schreef aan zijn echtgenote: Ik ben ten diepste getroffen door het heengaan van uw geëerde echtgenoot, mijn oud-chef in ambtelijke dienst. Mijn leedwezen moge getuigen van mijn welgemeende deelneming in dit grote verlies voor U en de Uwen. Door zijn vrome zin en beminnelijke eenvoud is het mij een bijzonder door God geschonken voorrecht geweest de laatste jaren voor mijn ontslag, op enkele maanden na, onder hem te hebben mogen dienen, ik zou eerder moeten zeggen te hebben mogen samenwerken. UEd. troost en sterkte toewensende van de Heer onze God , vooral in deze dagen, verblijf ik met de meeste hoogachting, enz.,20 juni 1967.

Nota Bene: In een brief aan zijn zuster Jean in Delft van 27 december 1951 memoreert hij de geboorte van haar 5e kleinkind en geeft haar gelijk als zij zegt dat we al aardig opschieten. Henk schrijft : het gaat soms gauw achter elkaar hoor, mijn oudste zoon in 1943, zusje (Reny ) in 1946 en Connie (Toet) in 1950 (volgens mij [Bron] zijn dit trouwdata), terwijl Joop nog thuis is.
Zusje stuurde al aardige foto's van de 3 maanden oude baby en met Connie was het maandag niet zo best (borst-kwestie), hoge koortspiek, maar het gaat al beter. Gisteren was ik er en zat ze al een uurtje op bij de kerstboom. Ze heeft een heel lief kindje, zoet, rustig en kennelijk zeer gezond.

Ook doet hij het gevonden familie-wapen uit de doeken en zegt: laat Hansje maar niet los op de genealogie en heraldiek; 't is wel aardig, maar toch eigenlijk jammer van de tijd en energie die 't kost. Het is goed voor gepensioneerden, als ze er nog lust voor voelen.
