Tijdens de oorlog was hij opvoedkundig ambtenaar aan het instituut Valkenheide in Maarn om te voorkomen naar Duitsland te worden gestuurd.
Na de oorlog werd hij beroepsmilitair bij het dienstvak militaire administratie tot zijn pensioen. Hij bereikte de rang van eerste luitenant.
Na een verblijf van enige jaren in Spanje is hij in Fuengirola overleden.
