Aldora Schoffelman, 85, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister entered into eternal life on Feb. 21, 2015.

Aldora was born to Ben and Ella (Wieman) Mammenga on April 12, 1929 on a farm near Monroe. She grew up in the area and graduated from Parker High School in 1947.

She married Melvin Schoffelman on June 22, 1948.

They farmed near Tea, Hartford and Humboldt for over 30 years. Aldora cared for her family and worked on the farm raising chickens and tending a large garden. Aldora was known for her delicious food, especially her homemade pies. She always had cookies, cakes and pies ready for anyone who visited her home and no one left without being offered coffee and some of her tasty desserts.

Melvin and Aldora moved off the farm in 1979 and moved into Hartford where she continued to tend to her garden and flowers.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hartford for over 50 years and was a member of the Methodist Women's Nocturne Circle. She worked in Environmental Services on the Pediatric Floor at Sioux Valley Hospital for over 25 years, where she received the Employee of the Year award. After retiring, she enjoyed serving lunch to the children at West Central Schools.

Blessed to have shared her life, are her daughter, Ronda ( Wayne) Maass, Goddard, KS; son, Rodney Schoffelman, Hartford, SD; grandchildren: Nikki Schoffelman, Sioux Falls, Nathan (Candi) Maass, Derby, KS, Benjamin Maass, Wichita, KS, James (Erika) Maass, Mt. Hope, KS; great-grandchildren: Kadyn Franklin, Hunter, Gavin and Isaac Maass, Marley Black Lance, Henry Maass, Anika Owen and Caleb Maass; sister, Ione Tiemann, Onawa, IA; brothers: Luverne (Lorraine) Mammenga, , Menno, SD, Dwayne (Lois) Mammenga, Humboldt, SD, and Richard (Arlyce) Mammenga, Sioux Falls, SD.

She is now reunited with her husband, Melvin, of 63 years, her daughter, Robin, her parents, brothers, George and Al (Dorothy) and brother-in-law, Robert Tiemann.
