Saturday evening, June 14th in the Trinity Lutheran church chapel in Blue Earth, Minnesota occurred the marriage of Miss Marilyn Hanke and Johnnie Meyering with the pastor Rev. Thompson officiating.

The bride is the daughter of George Hanke of Blue Earth and the bridegroom, the son of Mrs. Annie Meyering of Buffalo Center.

They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nesbit of Blue Earth. Mrs. Meyering wore a white street length dress with a corsage of blue carnations and stephanotis. Her attendant wore a pink dress with blue and white carnation corsage.

A reception honoring the newlyweds was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nesbit. Following a short honeymoon they are at home on a farm near Buffalo Center.

Attending the wedding and reception were Mrs. Meyering and Richard, Mrs. Fred Brass and Willie, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wepel of Buffalo Center; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meyering of Fertile; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Berven and Mr. and Mrs. Menno Folkertsof Thompson; Mr. and Mrs. Gartzke, Mr. and Mrs. "Butch" Mensing and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hanke, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Hanke and family, Mr. George Hanke, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Nesbit and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Widerholte and family,all of Blue Earth." <>

Johnnie T. Meyering Sr., 71, 2400 South Shore Dr., Clear Lake, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at his home. A prayer service was held Saturday, Feb. 7, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Diana Hoover officiating.According to his wishes his body will be cremated. Memorials may be given to the Johnnie T. Meyering Sr. Memorial Fund.

Johnnie was born April 1, 1937 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of Tony and Annie (Brass) Meyering. He attended school in Buffalo Center. Johnnie farmed around the Buffalo Center and Clear Lake areas. In June 1958 he married MarilynHanke and to this union were born five children, Judy, Jeannie, Marlene, Tony and Lois.

Johnnie married Phyllis Paulsen Johannessen on Sept. 7, 1971 and to this union two children were born, John and Phil.

John worked at the Clear Lake Elevator and Farm Services as a diesel mechanic. He then worked for Richard Hanna in rural Joice, Iowa. He enjoyed fishing, nature, and had a natural green thumb for working in gardens. Johnnie especiallyloved his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, Phyllis Meyering, Clear Lake; children, Judy Meyering Albert (Ronald), Missouri, Jeannie Olson, Wells, Minn., Marlene Meyering, Nellisville, Wis., Tony J. Meyering, Dallas, Texas, Lois Subbert (Jason),Fairmont, Minn., John Meyering Jr. (Angela), Mason City, and Phil Meyering (Lori) Clear Lake; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Annie Wepel, Grimes, Iowa and Everdina Folkerts, Thompson, Iowa.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred and Richard Meyering; a sister, Fannie Smidt; grandson, Cory Olson, two brothers-in-law, Harold Berven and Menno Folkerts.
