"Johannes Meyering Summoned by Death

Funeral services for Johannes Meyering, who passed away Thursday, July 13, having failed to recover from a major operation, were held' Saturday afternoon at the home followed with services at the German Reformed church with the Rev. Wm.R. Everts in charge. Interment was at Graceland cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ben Meyering, Tony Meyering, Jerry Meyering, Heiko Meyering, Henry Meyering, and John Meyering, Jr.

John Meyering

was born at Vriesschelee, Bellingswolde, Holland, on October 26, 1866, and died on July 13, 1939, at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 15 days. He was married to Everdena Raatjes on August 3, 1889. In the spring of 1914 the Meyeringfamily, with their 8 children came to America, settling at Kamrar, Iowa. After 4 years they came to Buffalo Center, where the departed has since resided. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Meyering, two of them preceded the fatherin death. Two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.

Mr. Meyering had always been of robust health. On May 13, he was first taken sick and entered the hospital, having as it seemed an internal injury. After a few days he was sufficiently recovered to return to his home. He was again takensick on July 2, and on July 10 submitted to an operation, by which however he could not be restored.

He leaves to mourn his departure his afflicted widow, and the following children: Mrs. John Abels of Buffalo Center; Jerry of Alden; Ben of Blairsburg; Tony of Buffalo Center; Henry at home; John Jr., at home; Trena at home and Heiko ofBuffalo Center. There survive also 16 grand children and 4 great grand children." <>
