NEWARK: Norene (West) Machwart, 87, passed away at Sharon Brooke Assisted Living in Newark, Ohio, on Friday, November 1, 2013.

She was born in Alliance, Ohio on July 8, 1926, the daughter of the late Guy Sr. and Ethel (Eckleberry) West.

On July 24, 1943 she married Walter Machwart, who preceded her in death on February, 6, 2010. Norene enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and was a great baker. She is survived by her three children, James (Betty) Machwart of Ashland, Ohio, Barbara Tartir of Wooster, Ohio and Becky (Dave) Leasure of Fresno,Ohio; six grandchildren, Mark Leasure, Connie Desender, Jamal Tartir, Mary Tartir, Andrew Machwart and Ben Machwart; two great grandchildren, Logan and Lyndsey Desender; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Norene is preceded in death by two brothers, Rodney West and Guy West Jr.; and two sisters, Madaline Gardner and Eileen Cole. Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday,November 7, 2013 from 10-11am. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Charles Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in WestLafayette, Ohio
