Funeral services for Sadie Nieman, 49, of Kanawha, were held Monday morning, July 6, 1981 at the Kanawha United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Harlan Stenberg officiating. Interment was in Amsterdam Township Cemetery,Kanawha, Iowa with the Carter-Ewing Funertl Home in charge of arrangements.

Sadie Ann Nieman, daughter of John and Anna Honken of Buffalo Center, died Thursday morning, July 2, 1981 from cancer at the Belmond Community Hospital where she had been a patient since Tuesday, June 30. ... She was married to Richard Nieman on November 22, 1951 in Crystal Lake. They lived in Crystal Lake one year, in Buffalo Center for one year and then moved to a farm northeast of Kanawha where they lived for 27 years. ..." <>

Sadie Ann Nieman, daughter of John and Anna Honken of Buffalo Center, died Thursday morning, July 2, 1981 from cancer at the Belmond Community Hospital where she had been a patient since Tuesday, June 30.

She was born November 28, 1931 in Buffalo Center and was baptized and confirmed in the Christian Faith and was an active member of the Kanawha United Methodist Church.

She graduated from Buffalo Center High School and attended Waldorf College in Forest City for one year. She taught in the country school near Crystal Lake for two years.

She was married to Richard Nieman on November 22, 1951 in Crystal Lake. They lived in Crystal Lake one year, in Buffalo Center for one year and then moved to a farm northeast of Kanawha where they lived for 27 years.

Sadie had been a Sunday School teacher and a 4-H leader for many years. Ceramics was one of her hobbies and she had taught a ceramics class in her home for the past five years.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Nieman of Kanawha; one"

"daughter, Mrs. Avis Shirer and her husband, Tom, of Britt; one son, Marvin and wife, Nancy of Britt; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Gregory; her parents, John and Anna Honken, Buffalo Center; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Casperand Tillie Nieman, Britt; one brother, Clyde Honken and his wife, Marie, Buffalo Center; one sister, Gloria Hensel and her husband, Richard, Winnebago, Minnesota and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; one brother, Ernest, and one grandchild, Amy Lee Nieman."
