HENRY J. AND MARIA (HINDERKS) HONKEN

Henry J. Honken, son of John and Katrina (Stiller) Honken, was born at Ostfriesland, Germany of Aplril 9, 1939. Her married Maria Hinderks at Bunde, Germany, on September 6, 1866. Maria Hinderks, daughter of Peter and Eka (Schaffer) Hinderks, daughter of Peter and Eka (Schaffer) Hinderks, was born on June 18, 1843 in Ostfriesland, Germany. Henry and Marie with their family, Peter, Henry, John and Ada, sailed for America in 1865. They settled in Shannon, Illinois, where Mr. Honken operated a milk route. From there the family moved to Buffalo Center, where he was a jeweler and watch maker. They were the parents of seven children: Peter, Henry, John, Ada, Kate, Annie, and Minnie. They resided in Buffalo Center the rest of their lives. Henry died on November 27, 1917, and Maria lived to be 90 years old and deid on June 21,"

"1933. After Henry died, Maria lived with her daughter, Ada, who took care of her until she passed away. Two of their children, John and Ada, lived their entire lives in Buffalo Center."

Either the immigration date in the biography above is wrong or our Peter is not the son of Henry & Maria Honken. - D.A. Navorska - xxv May MMXIX - in proximo Grove, OK.
