Anna (Mrs. Sydney Green) was born to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Okken December 13, 1860, in Freeport, IIilinois. She came with her parents to Grundy County, Iowa.

On March 9, 1892, she was married to Mr. Sydney Green and they moved on a farm in this vicinity. Four daughters and one son were born to them, the son, Sydney John, died in 1917. Also her husband preceeded her in death exactly twentytwoyears to the day.

She leaves to mourn her departure her four daughters: Saddena, Mrs. Roy Cline of Goodell, Iowa; Henrietta, Mrs. Fred Stratman, Anna, Mrs. John Honken, and Grace, Mrs. Fred Wubben of Buffalo Center; the four son-in-laws; one sister, Mrs.J. F, Weatherly, and one brother, Ernest Okken of Grundy County, Iowa; and 10 grandchildren beside the many friends.

One brother and four sisters are deceased.

She became a Christian in young womanhood, uniting with the 'Aliee Church of God' near Conrad, Iowa. Later brought her membership to the local Congregational Church.

Her testimony for her Saviour bore fruit in that when special meetings came to the community the children made their public confessions of Christ. A life of quiet serenity, of determined conviction, a kindly contented disposition hasbrought repetition of testimony from the children, "she was a good mother."

Although physical weaknesses had been manifesting themselves for several years, she was happy in being able to keep house for her brother, Ernest, at whose home she suddenly received the summons to "Come up higher" Saturday afternoon at 4:10, April 10, 1943. At the date of decease she was 73 years 4 months and 27 days.
