Erlene Schutter, 77, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012, after a long struggle with cancer, in Hospice at the Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona, IA. funeral services were held on January 16, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in ruralTitonka with Pastor Robert Wolfert officiating. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Erlene W. Mayland was born on June 24, 1934, to Fred and Etta (Bruns) Mayland at their rural home in Britt, IA. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Britt. Erlene graduated from Britt High School in 1952.Following graduation, she worked at the Britt Pantorium.

On April 11, 1958, she was united in marriage to Franklin LeRoy Schutter. They made their home on the family farm adjacent to Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Titonka. ... ..." <>

"Franklin Schutter, 49

Funeral services for Franklin Schutter, 49, of Titonka, who died Friday, March 12, 1982 at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN, were held Monday afternoon, March 15, at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Titonka with the Rev. Randy S. Nielsen as officiant, assisted at the graveside by the Titonka Veterans Ceremonial Unit.

Mrs. James Post, organist, accompanied the Men's Chorus of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Ushers were Larry Franzen, Lloyd Bartelt and Morris Isebrand. Casketbearers were Kenneth Blakley, Harm Terhark, Alvin Brandt, Jerry Giesking, RogerSchmidt and Neal Loeschen. Interment was in the church cemetery with Cataldo Funeral Chapel of Woden in charge of arrangements.

Franklin Leroy Schutter, son of William and Anna (Franzen) Schutter, was born January 27,1933 on a farm east of Titonka. He was baptized and confirmed at Immaneul Lutheran Church. After attending the rural schools of Titonka, he farmedwith his father for several years. During and after the Korean conflict he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-55, stationed in Japan. He returned to Titonka and on April 11, 1958, he married Erlene Mayland at the First LutheranChurch in Britt. They continued farming on the home place.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Brotherhood, the Men's Chorus and Adult Choir. He served on the Church Council and with his wife, Erlene, was sponsor of Luther League. He was also a member of the American Legion andV.F. W. at Titonka.

He is survived by his wife, Erlene; his children, Anita, Marvin and John; four sisters, Mrs. Paul (Agnes) Christ of Lakota, Mrs. Ubbe (Therese) Ubben of Titonka, Mrs. Eugene (Kathryn) Christ of Lakota and Mrs. Herman (Wilda) Ubben ofTitonka, and a step-mother, Mrs. Lena Schutter of Titonka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Marvin and a sister, Leanna." <>
