Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Franzen were held Saturday afternoon, at the house at 1:30 and at 2 o'clock at Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev. Planz, the pastor in charge. The church choir under the direction of Mrs. John OstermannJr., sang, with Mrs. Wm. Planz at the organ. Burial was in Immanuel cemetery, with Swan Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Evert Post, Ernst Hofmann, Henry F. Mayland, E.J. Buss, Henry Brandt and John Rode.

Following is the obituary read at the service:

Mrs. Frank Franzen, whose maiden name was Tena DeBoer, was born Nov. 3, 1872, in Butler County, Iowa. She was a daughter of Ted and Elsie DeBoer. She was given to the Lord in the sacrament of Holy Baptism while still an infant. Thusshe was a child of God, from the cradle to the grave.

She was instructed in the Lutheran faith and made public donfession of her faith in the Triune God. When she was eleven years old, she came with her parents to Titonka and spent her early years on the farm which is known as the BrunoStecker farm. On July 4, 1892, she was united in marriage with Frank Franzen by the Rev. Christian Jensen. they made their home continuously until retirement on the farm 1 1/2 miles west of Immanuel Church, where the Ulmann family nowlives. She was a charter member of the Immanuel congregation. Her husband was a member of the church council for nearyl 25 years." <>
