Tuesday evening, June 7, 1937, Harm Schutter died at his home near German Valley. Mr. Schutter had not been well for several years and the end came peacefully to him.
He was born Nov. 29, 1864 in Westerhusen, Ostfriesland, Germany. He received his education in the old country and later learned the carpenters trade. He served as a soldier in the German army from 1886 to 1889. In 1892 he was marriedto Miss Ettje Janhsen and to this union three sons were born, Bonno, Will and John. John preceded the father in death about six months ago.
In 1909 the family emigrated from Germany and settled in the Titonka neighborhood which community has been the family's home during their residence in the United States.
At the time of his death Mr. Schutter was 72 years of age. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Will and Bonno, and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, June 10th at the Lutheran church in Titonka and were conducted by student pastor A. Schulz, assisted by Rev. A. Killian." <>
