Kathleen A. Harms, 88, of Muscoda, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at her home. She was born in St. Ansger, Mitchell County, Iowa on November 8, 1923 the daughter of Theodore and Grace (Naber) Epple. She married Glen R. Harms on May 15, 1945. To this union were born four children. She was born again through the truth of John 3:16 on April 17, 1935, while she and her brother Wayne, were unloading a wagon load of soybean hay. The two of them had been discussing how that they were done trying to get saved and that they would just have to go to hell. She was baptized and received into the assembly fellowship at Hitesville, Iowa. After her marriage she was in assembly fellowship with the Christians at Blue River, Wisconsin. She was hired to raise two batches of 10,000 turkeys a year for a number of years. She cooked for the Riverdale School District for over 20 years and retired in 1990. She wove rag rugs and hand quilted quilts as a hobby. She loved to garden.

Kathleen is survived by four children, Phyllis (Phil) Aschenbrenner of Westminster, Colorado, John Harms (Ellen Young) of Muscoda, Bonita Harms of Muscoda, Janice Harms of Boscobel, four grandchildren, Jason Aschenbrenner of Thornton, Colorado, Molly (Jeff) Cozad of Greeley, Colorado, Robert Harms of Columbus, Wisconsin, Ross (Maren) Harms of Sauk City, five great-grandchildren, Evan and Maddie Cozad, Gavin, Trevor, and Oliver Harms, two sisters, Barbara Swieter of Hampton, Iowa, Lois (David) Novak of Highland, sisters-in-law, Irene Harms of Muscoda, Lois Epple of Grants Pass, Oregon, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Glen, in 1983 and her parents, and six siblings.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Valley Amish Mennonite School, 1061 Blue River Road, Muscoda. Burial will follow in the Muscoda Cemetery. Friends may call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM or at the Pleasant Valley Amish Mennonite School on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The Godager Pratt Funeral Home of Muscoda is assisting the family with their arrangements. Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
