Orrie G. Epple, 70, of Aredale, Iowa, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the Muse Norris Hospice Unit, Mason City, Iowa. Funeral services for Orrie G. Epple will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 20th, at the Linn's Funeral Chapel, 903 Cerro Gordo St., Ackley, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday evening at the Linn's Funeral Homes Ackley Chapel. Burial will be at the Dumont Cemetery, Dumont, Iowa, with Military honors.

Orrie George Epple was born June 25, 1938 at his parent's farm in Mitchell County, Iowa to Theodore and Grace [Naber] Epple. He graduated from Dumont, Iowa high school in 1958. On June 22, 1962, he was united in marriage to Judith Ann Stubbe. To this union three sons were born: Bernard Edwin, Edwin Floyd, and Andrew Orrie. Orrie served his country as an electrician's mate in the United States Navy. He was saved on March 22, 1979. He was a member of the Dumont American Legion. Orrie was a farmer, feed and seed salesman, and also operated his business: Orrie's Garage in Aredale.

Orrie is survived by his sons, Bernard [Janet] Epple of Indianola, Iowa, Andrew [Julie] Epple of Grants Pass, Oregon, four grandchildren: Zachariah and Julia Epple of Indianola, Iowa, and Joey and Mack Epple of Grants Pass, Oregon; three sisters: Kathleen Harms of Muscoda, Wisconsin, Barbara Swieter of Hampton, Iowa, and Lois [David] Novak of Highland, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Theodore and Grace Epple; his wife: Judith Epple; his son Edwin Epple; his sisters: Jene Scott, Arlene Axiotis, Yvonne Scott; and his brothers: Wayne Epple and Ross Epple.
