Burial will be at a later date in Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center.

Jean was born April 21, 1963 in Buffalo Center to Billy and Elsie (Drake Smith. She graduated from Northwestern College of Orange City and also completed an associate degree in nursing from DMACC. Her greatest love and joy was inserving her Lord Jesus Christ by helping and working with the disabled. Her other passions included biking, running, playing basketball, teaching children's Sunday school, and cheering for the Cyclones, Hawkeyes, and Vikings - anddrinking Pepsi.

Though Jean's years werre short, they were full-to-the-brim, ones full of love and laughter and her Lord. Dispite her trials of a kidney transplant 11 years ago, and her bout with cancer, she lived the abundant life here on earth, surrounded by faithful friends, one rambunctious nephew, and four giggling nieces!

She is survived by her parents, of Buffalo Center; one sister, Cindy Smith, of Minneapolis; and two brothers, Randy (and Judy) Smith of Ankeny, and their children: Jonathan (and Vanessa, with sone Stephen) of Creston, and Rachel, Joy,Beka, and Jennie, all of Ankeny; and Don Smith of Urbandale.
