    Frank D. Montanye
    Marshville--Frank D. Montanye, 73, of Buel Road, Canajoharie, died Wednesday [Oct. 12, 1994] at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, after a long illness.
    Mr. Montanye was born in Charleston.  He was educated in Canajoharie and lived in Marshville for most of his life.  He also lived in Orange City, Fla., for a brief period.
    He served with the Army during World War II.
    Mr. Montanye worked for the Beech Nut-Lifesavers Co. for 44 years, first as a machine adjuster and more recently as maintenance supervisor.  He retired in 1984.
    He was a member of the Marshville Evangelical Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and former superintendent.
    Mr. Montanye was a former member of the New York State Grange and the Bowman Creek Grange.
    His wife, Elizabeth Jones Montanye, whom he married May 29, 1942, died in 1991.
    Survivors include three daughters, Marie M. Bruce of Greensburg,PA, and Frances M. Drumm and Maureen E. Nestle, both of Canajoharie; a brother, Harold C. Montanye of Canajoharie; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
    A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home, 20 Otsego St., Canajoharie.
    Burial will be in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.  Calling hours are 2 to 4 this afternloon and 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the church's Brotherhood Fund.
