    Mrs. Maureen E. Nestle, 55, of Reed St., Canajoharie, NY, died Christmas morning with her family by her side at Palatine Nursing Home following a long illness.
    She was born in Amsterdam, NY on October 2, 1949, the daughter of Frank D. Montanye nad Elizabeth E. Jones Montanye. Maureen was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, class of 1967 and attended training in banking through Central National Bank.
    Maureen was employed as a Clerk in the Note Department at Central National Bank in Canajoharie for 24 years, retiring in February 1990 due to illness.
    She was a lifelong area resident.
    She was a member of Marshville Evangelical Church. Maureen enjoyed her extensive glass bell collection and needlepoint, crocheting and liquid embroidery.
    On October 29, 1967 she was married at Marshville Evangelical Church to Gary E. Nestle, who survives.
    She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Montanye.
    She is survived by her husband, Gary E. Nestle of Canajoharie, NY; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Frank D. and Maria Nestle of Palatine Bridge, NY; 1 daughter, Elizabeth E. Nestle of Canajoharie, NY; 2 sisters, Marie M. and her husband, James Bruce of Waterboro, SC, Frances M. and her husband, Gary Drumm of Canajoharie, NY; 5 grandchildren, Dustin, Athena, Rusty, Brittini and Alyssa Nestle; 2 brothers-in-law, Victor and his wife, Yvonne Nestle of Fort Plain, NY, Wayne and his wife, Bonnie Nestle of Van Hornesville, NY; 1 sister-in-law, Dawn Barney of Altamonte Springs, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
    A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Houghtaling & Smith Funeral Home Inc., 20 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY. Rev. Kenneth Dingman will officiate. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 28, from 4:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Canajoharie Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 28, Canajoharie, NY 13317; Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St., Gloversville, NY 12078.
