Notes about Thomas (Tomas) Trock (Trox)
Gedoopt in de Nieuwe Kerk. Thomas werd door zijn vader naar het weeshuis gestuurd om een goed ambacht te leren. Zie hiervoor brief uit de wezenkamer 1692. Hij werd uiteindelijk kleermaker [snijder]. In 1666 verkreeg hij het Klein Burgerrecht [i.e. toelating tot de gilden en recht op verkiezing in de stedelijke magistratuur].
Waarschijnlijk was de oorzaak het vroegtijdig overlijden van zijn moeder Elisabeth Lessle op 42-jarige leeftijd waardoor Thomas in het weeshuis terecht kwam. Hier heeft hij mogelijk zijn aanstaande vrouw Gesina Dillinck ontmoet die eveneens in het weeshuis verbleef.
