Notes about Aagje Cornelia KUYPER

According to the Lester J Kuyper history, Aaige died in December of 1887. Jean Kuyper's mother, Willemina Van Zanten, says of her uncle Grampt, that Aaige took her two younger children and left Garmpt, and returned to the family that raised her. Jean said that Garmpt was a gruff individual, and a loner, but seemed very sad after Aaige left. The next step is to find Aaige's grave and find out when it is that she died.

Harrison Globe, Dec 15, 1887: Mr. Ads Kuyper received word Monday that his daughter, Mrs. G. Van Zanten, who was confined in the Yankton insane asylum, was dead. She died Sunday of consumption. The body was sent here and the funeral will be held today, Mrs. Van Zanten had only been confined in the asylum since Nov. 18. The whole community was shocked when the news of her sudden death came, as there were bright prospects of her recovering her mind in a short time. She was about 30 years old and leaves a husband and four small children to mourn for her, besides a father, mother and numerous brothers and sisters. The heartfelt sympathy of the entire community is extended to those who mourn over her sad death.
