Notes about Jan (John) de Mots

Funeral services were held at Central Reformed church here at 10 a. m. Tuesday June, 25, for John DeMots, 80, who died Sunday at the Orange City hospital. Services were conducted by the Rev. Albert H. Ten Clay and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of the Co-operative Funeral Home of Sioux Center.

Mr. De Mots was born in Douglas County, South Dakota, on October 8,1887, and moved to Sioux County as a small boy. He grew to manhood here and attended local schools.

Survivors include a brother, Dr. Henry De Mots of Sioux Center, three sisters, Mrs, Elizabeth Rodenburgh of Sioux Center, Mrs. Hubert Muilenberg and Mrs. Howard Jelgerhuis, both of Orange City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gerrit and Jacob.
