Cornelius Jans (Koning) geboren in Schildwolde trouwt in 1754 met Tieske Everts in Meedhuizen. De familie woont in Siddeburen en omgeving. Rond 1920 verhuist Kornelius Jan Koning naar Oude Pekela om te trouwen. Hij is onderwijzer, maar krijgt van de dokter het advies om meer in de buitenlucht te werken. Kornelius Jan Koning en Hadewieg Heikens kopen een boerderij in Nieuw-Amsterdam.
