Notes about Hendrik Boxma

Op 17 september 1944 riep Radio Oranje de spoorwegstaking uit: "De kinderen van Versteeg moeten onder de wol". Hendrik nam deel aan de spoorwegstaking om de Duitsers te saboteren. Hij dook meteen aan het begin van de staking onder, maar de Duitsers ontdekten zijn onderduikadres. Op het station in Groningen werd Hendrik Boxma voor de ogen van zijn collega's gefusilleerd door een Duits vuurpeleton. Dit moest een waarschuwing zijn voor collega's bij de NS. Hendrik werd begraven op de begraafplaats Selwerderhof. Verantwoordelijke voor de executie lijkt Harm (Harry) Bouman.
