Notes about Albert Boxma
In 1857 komt ene Nicolaas de dood van Albert's zoon IJsbrand aangeven samen met de schoenmaker Jan Harms Braak. Deze Nicolaas was de schaapherder en beiden woonden naast Albert. Nicolaas kon niet schrijven.
Op 25 juli 1896 staat het volgende bericht in de Drentsche en Asser Courant:
Kerk en School.
Aangenomen: Tot kerkvoogd der Ned. Herv. gemeente Bovensmilde ter voorziening in de vacature, ontstaan door het bedanken van den administreerende kerkvoogd A. Boxma, is dezer dagen benoemd de heer J. Jager Jzn.
Op 24 september 1895 staat in de Drensche en Asser Courant een stukje over een brand: "Bovensmilde, 24 Sept.
Hedennacht half twaalf werden wij onverwachts opgeschrikt door het geroep van brand; weldra bleek, dat het huis, bewoond door J. Hoogeveen en in eigendom toe behoorende aan den heer A. Boxma, in lichte laaie stond. De brand, welke in de schuur ontstaan is, nam in zoo hevige mate toe dat de inboedel met groote moeite kon gered worden. Van de levende have is een jongbaest, de kippen en een duif en verder den geheelen voorraad, welke in de schuur geborgen was, verbrand. Van den inboedel was niets, het huis bij de Jong en Co. te Amsterdam verzekerd. Oorzaak onbekend".
