Eleanor Osthus, 91, of Lennox died Sunday, May 25 at the Sanford Foundation Hospice Cottage, Sioux Falls. Eleanor Bultena was born at Lennox, SD in 1922.

On January 8, 1946 she married James Osthus. The couple farmed near Beresford. She had worked for Otis Radio, Tolly's Café and Marty's Café. James died in 1994.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Russell and grandson Jamie Stiles.

Survivors include her daughters: Beverly (Chuck) Stiles, Beresford, Carolyn (Ken) Singer, Lincoln, NE, Diane (James) Isakson, Broomfield, CO; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Obed (Vi) Osthus, Sioux Falls, sisters-in-law: Bernice Bultena, Lennox, Hazel Christofferson, Centerville, Ardis Johnson, Beresford and Carol Brende, Sioux Falls.

Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 2 at Second Reformed Church, Lennox. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Dindot-Klusmann Funeral Home, Lennox with the family present.

Eleanor Osthus, 91, of Lennox, SD died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Sanford Foundation Hospice Cottage, Sioux Falls,

Eleanor Fern Bultena was born on September 12, 1922 at Lennox, SD, the daughter of Peter and Jennie (Kuper) Bultena. She attended school in Lennox and helped on the family farm.

On January 8, 1946 she was united in marriage to James Osthus. To this union, four children were born.

Jim and Eleanor lived and worked in Sioux Falls before moving to the Beresford area, where they farmed for many years. Eleanor was a farm wife who also worked outside the home at Otis Radio in Canton. She was a waitress at Tolly's Café where she was known for her homemade pies. She also worked at Marty's Café in Beresford. Jim died on November 14, 1994. Eleanor then moved into Lennox where she lived for over 19 years.

Eleanor, fondly know as grandma El, was a member of the Second Reformed Church. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, cooking and baking.

Besides her husband and parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her son Russell, grandson, Jamie Stiles, three brothers and one sister.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughters: Beverly (Chuck) Stiles, Beresford, Carolyn (Ken) Singer, Lincoln, NE, Diane (Jamie) Isakson, Broomfield, CO; eight grandchildren: Bill Stiles, Kerri (Scott) Groetsema, Susan Wagner Jason (Beth) Singer, Matthew Singer, Jennie (Jamie) Abeyta, Sarah (Kurtis) Adams and Eric Osthus; eight great-grandchildren: Maggie, Cassie, Dane, Evelyn, Taylor, Lauryn, Trey and Madysen; four sisters-in-law: Bernice Bultena, Lennox, Hazel Christofferson, Centerville, Ardis Johnson, Beresford and Carol Brende, Sioux Falls, brother-in-law, Obed (Vi) Osthus, Sioux Falls; special nieces, Kris Brende and Delores Roskeland and as well as other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends
