"GRACE MOLENDORP

Funeral services for Grace Molendorp, 97, were held Monday, Jan. 8 at the United Methodist Church, Sibley, with Rev. John Poe officiating. Burial was in Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley, with Andringa Funeral Home, Sibley, in charge of arrangements.

Grace Molendorp, daughter of John and Pieterke (Moet) Dirks was born on May 19, 1898 in Allendorf. She lived her youth and attended school in the Sibley area. She attended normal training school in Cedar Falls for one year and taught in rural schools in Osceola county for a number of years.

She married John Molendorp of Allendorf on Dec. 16, 1921 in Sibley. They farmed on several different farms in the Sibley and Ocheyedan area. John died in November of 1966. Grace moved to Sibley in 1967. In 1992 she moved to the Country View Manor of Sibley.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sibley. She was a former member of the Trinity Reformed Church of Sibley for many years. Grace was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and she volunteered within the community.

Grace died on Friday, Jan. 5, 1996 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.

Survivors are her son, Arnold Molendorp of Sibley; three granddaughters and their husbands, Barbara and Kenneth Reiste of Dawson, Minn., Karen and Clyde Newton of Sioux City and Betty and Mark Consoer of Mankato, Minn., and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, three sisters and five brothers."
