"Louis Riebkes, 90

WELLSBURG - Services for Louis Riebkes, 90, Wellsburg, who died Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Presbyterian Home, Ackley, will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, rural Wellsburg. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. and at the church one hour prior to services. A memorial fund has been established.

He was born Aug. 12, 1900 in Grundy County to Martin and Anna Kannegieter Riebkes. He attended German Township country school in Grundy County.

On Jan. 21, 1925 he married Ellen Riekens. They farmed in Grundy County, retiring in 1965.

He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ and served for many years on the General Election Board of German Township.

He was preceded in death by an infant grandson and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen, Wellsburg; a daughter, Marlys (Mrs. Frederick) Vanderwerf, rural Wellsburg; a brother, Henry, Wellsburg; a sister, Ida Lindaman, Wellsburg; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren."
