Ida was the daughter of Martin Riebkes and Anna. She married William Lindaman on September 15, 1925 at the East Friesland Presbyterian Parsonage. They were the parents of Lois, Alvin, Arlene, and Marjorie.

The Grundy Register - Thursday, April 12th, 2001 - Ida Lindaman, 95, of Wellsburg, passed away Thursday, April 5 at the Ackley Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 7 at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, rural Ackley. Pastor Randy Russom officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Ida was born on December 11, 1905 in German Township, rural Grundy County, the daughter of Martin and Anna (Kannegieter) Riebkes. She attended the plowing Well Country School in rural Grundy County. On September 15, 1925 Ida was united in marriage to William H. Lindaman at the East Friesland Presbyterian Parsonage. William died in 1969.

Ida and William farmed in rural Wellsburg for many years. In 1954 they moved to Wellsburg. Ida cooked for the Wellsburg Commumty Schools for many years. She also cooked for the Presbyterian Summer Camp in Okoboji. Ida was a member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, rural Ackley, and a member of the Missionary Guild. Ida loved to play cards, bake and travel. She also made quilts for her family.

Ida is survived by a daughter, Lois Sanderson of Beaman; a son, Alvin (Betty) Lindaman of Wellsburg; a daughter, Arlene (Dale) Heetland of Ackley; a daughter, Marjorie (Richard) Sweet of Waterloo; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one granddaughter, Dawn Heetland; one great-great-granddaughter, Jaimie Mazoway; five brothers and two sisters. Doyen-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
