"Pamela's Obituary

Pamela Sue Krebs (nee Penning), 60, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. Her faith, strength and perseverance throughout her cancer journey have been an inspiration to family, friends and caregivers.

Born on September 29, 1957, in Britt, Iowa, Pam was the youngest child of Robert and Magdalene Penning. She and Martin (Marty) Krebs met in the third grade at Corwith-Wesley School in Corwith, Iowa, and were good friends during their elementary and high school years. They began dating during their senior years of college, after which she became his devoted wife of 38 years. From an early age, Pam was drawn to music and attended the University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she earned her B.A. in Music Education and Piano Performance. An accomplished music educator, Pam served as school music teacher, children's choir director, private piano instructor and choral accompanist for over 40 years, including her most beloved role of accompanying her three children at Lafayette Senior High School in Wildwood, Missouri.

Pam's most proud accomplishment in life was raising her children, Kyle Krebs, Lauren Groves and Allison Lumsden and seeing them grow in their love of the Lord. She spent timeless hours driving to games and practices, sitting on bleachers, washing uniforms, celebrating wins, and comforting after defeats. Her advocacy and support for her kids and spouse were fierce, and she took great delight in her grandchildren, Jett and Karis Groves.

Pam is survived by her husband, children and their spouses and grandchildren, as well as her mom, sisters Peggy Bierma and Pat Droge, brother Bobby Penning and a host of nieces, nephews and in-laws.

The family encourages donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, donating blood and platelets to the American Red Cross as well as registering with the National Marrow Donor Program through bethematch.org.
