Clarence M Schol, 86, of Kearney, MO passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017.

Clarence was born the youngest of seven children to Cornelius and Anne (Modder) Schol in Little Rock, Iowa. He grew up on a farm until the family moved to Worthington, Minnesota, where he graduated high school. He was in the Minnesota Army National Guard and later served in the Korean War. After receiving an honorable discharge, he attended Worthington Community College and was an offensive lineman on the football team.

Following graduation, he ran into the love of his life, Karen Gulbranson. After a short courtship, they wed on June 17, 1956. They resided in Sioux Falls, SD, Omaha, NE, Kansas City, MO, Branson, MO, and Kearney, MO. Clarence is survived by his wife of 61 years Karen. He also leaves his son, Jeffrey Dean (JD) and grandchildren Emily and Rachel; daughter Christine Keesling, her husband Jeffrey Keesling, grandchildren Ross, Ryan, Mallory and Kayla, great-grandchildren Zoey and Liam.

Clarence spent most of his professional life in sales and R&D, focusing primarily in lawn and garden chemicals. Companies he worked for included Borden Chemical, PBI, and Cornbelt Chemical. Once retired, he turned his love of the outdoors and golf into a second career in golf course groundskeeping which allowed him to spend his days in the sun. He always loved working outdoors even when the temperature was at its highest.

Clarence and Karen were active members of several Lutheran churches including St. James (Kansas City), Peace (Branson,) and Hosanna! (Liberty). They sang in the choir together and always demonstrated their love of Jesus while serving the community through Inasmuch Ministries (Food Pantry).
